1912 WHEN IT ALL BEGAN, IN A SMALL ARTISAN WORKSHOP IN FALCONARA MARITTIMA IN THE PROVINCE OF ANCONA, NEAR THE TRAIN STATION.

The history of Dolciaria Bedetti began when Commendator Augusto Bedetti, at the end of the nineteenth century, took up the profession of pastry chef in a laboratory in Ancona.

What was the casual choice of a ten-year-old boy struggling with the need to work, became over time a true passion, which the young Augusto had the opportunity to deepen in Turin, where he first worked as an assistant chef at the Officers' school and then, after completing his military service, he stayed to learn and improve the techniques and traditions of confectionery.

When he returned home, he decided to open his own shop. He found a small place in Falconara, next to the train station, and started that business that over time grew, firmly, around the family, with a gradual and constant development.

In a copper boiler in a “bain-marie” he cooked for hours that soft and fragrant dough, which immediately became synonymous with BEDETTI: the nougat.

Not even in wartime did the business stop, indeed, in such a difficult and precarious period the small company, in which the children Bruno, Franco, Bianca and her husband Vincenzo had entered in the meantime, finds the strength to continue precisely in the compactness of the family.

In 1946 Augusto, Amelia and their children, forced by the bombings to move to the countryside, brought with them the nougat machine and continued to produce it there, using a unicycle to make deliveries. This certainly represents one of the fondest memories for both the old and the new generation of BEDETTI.

In the 1950s, it was confirmed that the national market responded to the production of nougat and BEDETTI in those years managed to "break through" in the difficult market of Milan also through the prestigious agreement with Caffarel.

Milan represented the first stage of distribution that is now more widespread than ever throughout the national territory.

Currently, INDUSTRIA DOLCIARIA BEDETTI SRL is based in the new industrial area of ​​Falconara, boasts a 3000 m2 plant and a sales network of eighty agents who operate from the Aosta Valley to Sicily.

But nougat is still made as it was then with a recipe that represents continuity and carefully selected ingredients.
