Gran Duque de Alba Solera Gran Reserva brandy is one of the most renowned spirits of Jerez. Its extraordinary characteristics are the result of a careful selection of all the raw materials used, starting from the selection of the grapes for the distillation process. Gran Duque de Alba is distilled with the same Solera system (it consists in arranging the oak barrels on some overlapping rows, starting to fill only the topmost barrels; after a year a part of the contents is decanted into the barrels that were on the level lower, and the upper ones are filled with the new wine, rum or brandy, and the process is repeated from year to year, in this way the wine that is found in the barrels at the base, ready for consumption, is composed of grapes of vintages different, and from year to year it is enriched with particular flavors). Aging: aged for at least three years in oak barrels that previously contained sherry. The eye appears dark mahogany with golden reflections. It has a sumptuous smell, leather scents, old books, toasted marshmallows, pipe tobacco, dried fruit, salted butter and caramel cream. On the palate it is extremely sensual, succulent, ripe and sweet, with a very balanced finish.
