The history of BIO Cantina Sociale Orsogna began in 1964 when 35 winemakers joined together to give life to a dream: the town’s Social Winery. The notarial deed of incorporation of the cooperative (29 February 1964) Art. 2 states: “the company has no speculative purposes and proposes the joint processing of all the agricultural production of the members, the joint conservation and sale of products and by-products […]”. The aggregation was, and continues to be, the solution to compensate for the strong agricultural fragmentation of the territory and guarantee the survival of small family-run farms.
