GRAPE VARIETY: 87% Shiraz, 13% Mataro

COLOR: Intense cherry red with crimson edges.

BOUQUET: Duck cassoulet and Toulouse sausage. Freshly picked sage flowers in the morning sun and bouquet garni. Redcurrant and black plum. Hints of strawberries and cream. Mataro's signature is baking spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon sprinkled with crème anglaise. Frangipane cake.

TASTE: Strawberry compote. The tannins are initially mineral, slightly rubbery at the entrance, but velvety on the finish. The juicy palate provides beautiful line and length. Notes of oak and spices. An open texture.

AGING: In French oak barrels (45% seasoned) and American (45% seasoned, 10% new)
