Historical notes
Testimonies of elderly farmers in the area where some vines were found, derive the name Vitrarolo from the characteristic of the shoots that, in the winter period, take on a glassy appearance and break easily.
Importance and diffusion
Its cultivation is limited to a few vines, present in the oldest vineyards of the Nebrodi area, this limited diffusion makes it one of the relic vines recovered thanks to the Sicily Region Project on the regional ampelographic platform.
