PRODUCTION: In 1876, Tsar Alexander II was already a huge Louis Roederer champagne fan, and asked Louis Roederer to "go a step further" by producing, for his own personal consumption, a unique wine in quality and bottle.

Louis Roederer offered to create an exceptional white crystal bottle to host the best selection of the 7 best vineyards on his property.

This wine is produced only in the "great" vintages in which the maturation of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes express a subtle precise balance.

STYLE: Precise, silky, balanced and harmonious, powerful, full-bodied, of great purity.

PROCESSING: 55% Pinot noir - 45% Chardonnay - 20% of the wines aged in oak barrels with weekly batonnage - No malolactic fermentation. Cristal is produced using the harvests of the best vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs.

The wines undergo an average maturation of 5 years in the cellars and the rest after disgorgement is 8 months to perfect its maturity.

TASTING NOTES: «An intense delicate wine that reveals a precise, pure combination of sugared almond flowers, cocoa, toasted hazelnuts and candied citrus on the finish. The flavor is infinitely silky, concentrated and tasty, with an explosion of ripe fruit, red fruits, white chocolate, caramel, typical of Cristal.

It is a powerful and elegant wine, with a crescendo of sensations that reaches a true harmony of flavors and perfect integration. The finish is fresh with a fine bitterness that almost gives the "freshness" of the wine.

The perfect accompaniment: Scallops, caviar with citrus fruits, smoked salmon, lobster, oysters, crab, raw fish tartare.
