German abstract artist Michael Riedel has collaborated with Dom Pérignon to create the packaging for a limited edition of two vintages: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006 and Dom Pérignon Rosé 2004.

The Frankfurt-born experimental artist is known for his appropriations of text and use of digitization. In one series he looked at how his artworks have been interpreted in text, extracting copy from articles and advertisements to create silk-screened paintings while in another series he focused on the transition of slides in a PowerPoint presentation.

 

The initial hints of fresh almond and harvest will open immediately to notes of candied lemon and dried fruit. All this is complemented by hints of darker smoky and toasted. The wine in the mouth is fascinating, energetic and warm, becomes deep at the end, slightly bitter, thin and elegant at the same time.
