Traditional Ferrara dessert, Pampepato was invented at the beginning of the 16th century by the cloistered nuns of the Convent of Corpus Domini. They gave their cake the typical shape of the ecclesiastical "skullcap" and dedicated its creation to the Pontiff, calling it Pan del Papa, a name that was later changed over time to Pampapato up to the current Pampepato.

In the early 1900s, a well-known pastry chef took up the old recipe, perfected the formula and covered it with chocolate.
The product obtained various acclaim both nationally and internationally and during the Turin EXPO in 1911 it was awarded the highest honor: the "Diploma of Honor".

Today Pampepato remains a product rich in history, whose current recipe is the result of cultural factors that have distinguished the territory to which it belongs and which cannot be missing on our tables at Christmas.

Wheat flour type '0', candied fruit (orange peel, lemon, cedar, sugar, glucose), sugar, almonds, water, cocoa powder, spices (including cinnamon, nutmeg), leavening powder E503 E336.

Coating ingredients: dark chocolate (minimum 54% cocoa, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soy lecithin, vanilla).

Contains allergens: gluten, nuts, almonds, soy.

It may contain traces of milk.
