LOCATION OF THE VINEYARDS: Fiumana di Predappio (Forlì, Italy).
ALTITUDE: 150-250 m a.s.l.
NATURE OF SOILS: Brown limestone clays.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINEYARDS: Planted in 1999, with 4,500 plants per hectare, trained with spurred cordon.
VARIETY: 100% Sangiovese with large grapes, Romagna and Tuscan biotypes. HARVEST PERIOD: Second ten days of September.
YIELD PER HECTARE: 7,000 kg / hectare; 1.6 kg per plant.
VINIFICATION TECHNIQUES: The Sangiovese grapes of the different clones are harvested together and fermented in blends. Fermentation and subsequent maceration on the skins take place in steel vats at a controlled temperature. The contact of the wine with the skins lasts an average of 14 days; malolactic fermentation follows.
AGING: 70% for 12 months in steel containers and 30% in large Slavonian oak barrels (50hl) and at least 3 months in the bottle.
NUMBER OF BOTTLES PRODUCED: 20,000.
