In 1875, Ernest ANDRIEU, who initiated the creation of the House, invested in the vineyard and set up a business selling liqueurs, aperitifs and syrups. Gradually, he became a wine merchant and with his son-in-law Gédéon GUINOT, initially a herbalist, liqueur maker and winemaker, who produced our Blanquette de Limoux using the Traditional Method, it won the Gold Medal at the wine competition at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889. They developed commercial links throughout pre-war Europe and exported these wines to Russia, to the court of Tsar Nicholas II in 1909.
