The Convent of SS. Annunciata is set among the vineyards, the few remaining century-old olive trees and the small oak copses of Monte Orfano. Built in 1449, it is a place for the spirit, born of the meeting between architecture and nature, beauty and silence. The friars of the Convent of Ss. Annunciata have always produced great wine; Bellavista has been chosen to cultivate a unique and unrepeatable section of vineyard, the expression of an ancient tradition. On the south-facing slopes of the hill, a zone study has documented intense and prestigious vine cultivation there since the Middle Ages. The insight of our wine expert followed the signs of nature and translated them perfectly; the search for historical sources and the careful analysis of the soils has upheld the correctness of his insight. Above and below a fig tree (that, as the perfect genius loci, divides the ancient 5.45-hectare vineyard into two parts) one encounters two di!erent yet complementary soils ideally suited for a small blending of varietal Chardonnay. Harvested and matured separately, the grapes from these two amazing plots give rise to a still wine cuvee that defies the laws of space and time. If as is the the laws of space and time. If as is the case the roots of this vineyard sink down into a soil of very ancient origins, different from the typical conformation of Franciacorta and originating from the thousand-year old continental drift, on the other hand the climate and vegetation are typical of the lands facing onto the Mediterranean Sea. Climbing up this hill it's as we if find ourselves in Tuscany, buried in the scent of the Mediterranean brush, surrounded by the beauty of Renaissance frescoes and treading on soils of centuries past. An exception of nature, brought to light thanks to long-lost cultivation and wine-making techniques. The must ferments in small white oak casks, aged 3-4 years, and is then left to age for approximately 12 months. The wine, bottled during the second spring after harvesting, rests in the bottle for a year. The magical balance of this wine is a combination of the typical freshness of northern regions with the intense scents of the Mediterranean.

TASTING NOTES Colour a mildly intense straw yellow, with sparkling hints of green. Bouquet broad and inviting ripe fruit, antique rose, geranium, apricot and pineapple. Strong and startling mineral sensation. Elegant and soothing memento of vanilla. Excellent balance and fresh taste that is fully perceived in its long persistence and sapidity.
