In 1913 Longanesi Antonio (1854/1934) purchased the current property, located in Boncellino, a small village adjacent to Bagnacavallo. It was a small one-story house in front of a structure including the oven, the laundry and the pigsty.
It was here that in a roccolo, a wooded area at the edge of the land where hunting of migratory birds was practiced from the hut, a vine was found, clinging to an oak tree, which was used as a decoy for birds. Given the rusticity of the plant and the notable resistance to fungal diseases of the bunches composed of small grapes with thick skins, the family tried to produce wine at home, like all the farmers in the area. They obtained, with amazement, a good 14° product that was also very successful among friends, encouraging the spread of the vine in the area.
In the 1930s, the management of the company passed to his son Aldo (1891/1971) who expanded the house and the stable and built a small tool shed next to the pigsty.
In 1956, it was decided to plant the first Uva Longanesi vineyard.
In 1972, the third generation of Longanesi took over, Antonio (1921) and Pietro (1931/1999), who had been the true savior of the vine called Uva Longanesi in honor of the family.
In 1995, the owner of the company became Daniele (1968), son of Pietro, who in 1996 and 1997 expanded it to reach about 5 hectares of medium-textured, mainly clayey land.
In 1999 Daniele was one of the founding members of the "Il Bagnacavallo" consortium, created to protect and enhance local products, and began producing wine for commercial purposes as well.
In 2005 he became the president of the "Il Bagnacavallo" consortium.
In 2006 he began building the new cellar of about 300 square meters, including a small tasting room and toilets, also accessible to the disabled.
In 2010 he completed the work on the cellar, so now it is possible to visit the company and carry out tastings for groups of up to 50 people, by making a reservation by phone.
Currently, around 16,000 bottles of wine are produced in five different types: the Bursôn blue and black label - the "Rambëla", a still white wine obtained from Famoso grapes - the Decimello, a white passito wine obtained from Famoso grapes - the Anemo, a red passito wine obtained from Uva Longanesi and other local aromatic grapes.
The wine produced is sold throughout Italy, but also abroad, in Germany, Japan, the Czech Republic and San Marino.
A part of the land is still cultivated with fruit with a small production of Stanley plums and Angeleno plums.
The company has received recognition from the major food and wine guides, starting from the Veronelli Guide which in 2004 awarded it the "Sole" for the Bursôn black label 2001, up to the "Duemilavini" guides of the Ais, the Gambero Rosso Guide, "La Romagna da bere" of the Ais and the "Vini buoni d'Italia" guide of the Touring Club, and from participation in the "Vino del Tribuno" competition organized by the Tribunato di Romagna.
In 2008 at Vinitaly in Verona the company was awarded for merit with the Gran Medaglia di Cangrande for the development of agriculture and oenology; it received several diplomas of Gran Menzione at the Gran Palio della Signoria dei Bentivoglio (international exhibition of passito wines) and the Province of Ravenna awarded it with a quality recognition for the excellence of the wine and the sensitivity aimed at the development of the territory.
In 2009 in Rome he received the gold medal in the international wine competition "La Selezione del Sindaco" for the Bursôn black label 2005.
