Maison Kalder is a young company in the heart of Normandy founded by Alexandre Sidorenko, an oenologist and agronomist who decided to focus on cider through a very specific philosophy. Only tall trees are grown on the 11 hectares with a density of 1000 trees, divided into 700 apple trees and 300 pear trees. These plants give life to ancestral and late varieties and have their roots in an east-facing slope, located 200 meters above sea level on schist soil. Organic and biodynamic agriculture is practiced, with cattle and sheep free to graze among the trees. Attention is paid to the optimal ripeness of the fruits, which are harvested in November or December. In the winemaking processes, intervention is as minimal as possible: indigenous yeasts, no filtration and bottling following the lunar calendar. Maison Kalder ciders have a unique style, vinous and well-structured, with fine and elegant bubbles.
