List of products by brand MONTEVERTINE

Montevertine is located in the heart of the Chianti hills, in the municipality of Radda in Chianti at 425 meters above sea level.

In our vineyards, only the traditional varieties of the Chianti area are grown: Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. At Montevertine, simplicity, respect, attention to every detail and savoir-faire are the guideline of every day.

Our winemaking method is extremely traditional and has always been the same used since the first harvests. The hand-picked grapes are fermented in vitrified cement tanks, without temperature control and with two daily pumping overs to keep the cap of the marc wet and obtain a slow extraction of the tannins from the skins.

After racking, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation, again in vitrified cement tanks. Once the malolactic fermentation is complete, the wines rest in wooden barrels for a period of approximately two years. For aging we use Slavonian and Allier oak barrels with a capacity of 5.5 to 18 hectolitres and 225 litre Allier barriques. The wines are never filtered and bottling is done by gravity.
