Since 1880 we have been growing the best Sicilian grapes, representing today a reality of great tradition and experience on the island. In over 135 years we have acquired a deep knowledge of our territory, of the methods of cultivation of native vines, of the best techniques of winemaking of grapes.

The Pellegrino family has always personally managed the activities in the vineyard and in the cellar, and even today, in the seventh generation, is involved daily in the management of the company. A long family history made of respect, care, love and dedication, of values handed down from father to son, which today make it one of the greatest families of Sicilian wine.

The Pellegrino vineyards are located in the westernmost part of Sicily, characterized by a great variety of microclimates. The area has the largest vineyard surface in Italy as it is considered the most suitable on the island. Here, in fact, the intense light, the dry and arid climate, the fresh soils, the winds coming from the south, the strong temperature variations, create the ideal conditions for the production of quality wines.

It was the Phoenicians who introduced the cultivation of vines to these territories between the 8th and 7th centuries BC. We are therefore in the cradle of native Sicilian vines: Grillo, Inzolia, Catarratto, Grecanico, Zibibbo, Malvasia, Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Frappato, which have always been used here to produce great wines.

We grow our grapes on four estates owned by us with specific vocations, all managed with organic cultivation methods in full respect of the environment. Kelbi, a lush garden, ideal for growing Catarratto. Rinazzo, harsh and desert-like, where Syrah grows vigorously. Salinaro, whose Grillo vineyards on the coast enjoy the fresh sea breezes. Gazzerotta, a windy plateau, ideal for growing Nero d'Avola and where an ancient Grillo vineyard has put down deep roots, expressing the highest levels of quality.

We are committed to safeguarding the territory in which we operate, we grow grapes on our estates exclusively using organic methods, in full respect of the environment. Green choices also concern all areas of production, from lighting to logistics, from waste management to the use of water resources, up to the containment of all forms of environmental pollution.

Thanks to differentiated cultivation areas, three different wineries - Cardilla for wines, Pantelleria for Moscato and Passito wines, Marsala for the wine of the same name and fortified wines - and winemakers dedicated to each type of wine, we are the Sicilian winery able to offer the widest variety of Sicilian wine types.

In addition to estate wines from grapes grown on family properties, we produce: a line of monovarietal wines, from native and international grapes grown in our territory; a line of wines from organic native grapes; a line of wines produced from typical Sicilian aromatic grapes, characterized by intense, typically Mediterranean aromas and a cru, the highest qualitative expression of each vintage.

In the bush vineyards of Pantelleria, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we grow the Zibibbo grape, from which a great Moscato di Pantelleria is born, produced in our cellar on the island. From the same grapes dried in the August sun on cane racks, the Passito di Pantelleria is born, of which the Nes represents the noblest and most prized version.
