Costa del Vento is the most full-bodied Derthona by Vigneti Massa: a wine macerated on the fine lees that translates into a drink with a unique charm. This is one of those wines that, brought to room temperature and tasted with eyes closed, would make us think of a red, thanks to an enveloping and juicy sip and aftertastes that are nothing short of particular. Vigneti Massa is an independent winery that stands proudly on the hills of Monleale, in the heart of the Colli Tortonesi. The province of Alessandria is known, first and foremost, for having revived a grape variety that was now abandoned and unknown to most: Timorasso.

Costa del Vento is the Derthona that demonstrates how this grape variety, used predominantly here, can express itself in ever new and unique ways. A white wine that lends itself to a few years of aging and that tells the depth of a Piedmontese white grape that amazes with every new label. The white grapes that create the Costa del Vento, after the harvest, are transported to the cellar, where an artisanal vinification is carried out and which limits the use of chemicals as much as possible. The peculiarity of the fermentation is the very long maceration on the fine lees, lasting 10 months. This period gives privilege and majesty to the wine. The fermentation is spontaneous and the refinement takes place in steel vats.

Intense straw yellow color, it has an aristocratic nose of cedar and ripe yellow peach that leave room for deep balsamic sensations, with impertinent flint in the background. Tasting with uncompromising power and minerality, it recalls a slightly bitter vein of citrus peel that knows how to marry with soft tones of honey for a complex and intense sip like few others.
