Alcohol content: 14.5%
Nicknamed “the Barolo of Barbaresco”, it is the vineyard that produces some of the most structured wines and is therefore very famous and sought after.
Located a few dozen meters from Montefico, with which it shares the same southern exposure and high limestone soil, it is also among the steepest in the area with excellent drainage and therefore better holding of the bunches in the rainiest years. Also for this reason it is usually among the last slopes to be harvested. On average higher than Montefico and more sheltered from the northern winds, it has a warmer microclimate, which gives the fruit more mature, almost smoky aromas with a full and powerful body. First vintage produced in 1974.
