THE HEART Pruno is our Cru of Sangiovese 100%, it’s the family flagship wine. It comes from a extremely strict selection of the best Sangiovese grapes. It is bottled unfiltered so the great terroir of Predappio can reach its highest expression. 

GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Sangiovese. 

SOIL: clay and silt, with a calcareous vein at a depth of one meter and a percentage of sand in the texture. 

VINEYARD: 3.20 hectares (7.40 acres) in the Forlì area, in the Predappio Doc subzone at ca. 155 mt altitude. 

AVERAGE YIELD PER HECTARE: 62 qlha, 40 hlha (6.2 tons of grapes per hectare producing 4000 lt). 

HARVEST: by hand in small boxes (2nd and 3rd week of September) selecting the best grapes. 

WINEMAKING: fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks .Malo-lactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Bottled unfiltered. AGING: 18 months in French oak tonneaux (500 lt) and barriques (225 lt) from the Allier and Tronçais. Aged in bottles for another 12 months before release. 

POTENTIAL AGING IN BOTTLE: 15 years and more.
