A Sangiovese Superiore, an austere and complex wine, juicy in the mouth, full with a fine texture. An unusual and modern wine. Matured in barrels and inbarriques of Allier oak for 18 months. Subsequently aged in the bottle for 12-15 months.


PRODUCTION AREA Alto Bidente hills,400 metres above sea level, facing south/south-est. 

GRAPE VARIETY Sangiovese. 

DENOMINATION Romagna D.O.C. Sangiovese SOIL Limestone-clay. 

CLIMATIC CHARACTERISTICS Wide temperature range, little rain, constantly ventilated. 

EXISTING CULTIVATION Low spurred cordon in vertical trellis with dense planting (6'000 plants per hectare), low output per hectare, grassy. Planting layout 220x70. 

GRAPE PICKING October 2016. Manually done, with meticulous selection of grape bunches and immediately vinified. 

PRODUCTION PER HECTARE 70ql. 

WINEMAKING TECHNIQUE Temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation in modern steel winemaking vats commanded by computerised panels and subsequently matured in Alier oak barrels. 

MALOLACTIC FERMENTATION Completed naturally in barrels and barriques. 

MATURING 12 Months in 20 hl barrels and in barriques of 225 litres.
