Syrah prefers soils made of red and fine sands, rich in iron, which recall the sands from the desert and gives the wine an intense colour and an excellent full-bodied sensation


Territory of origin: South west Sicily - Menfi (AG)

Grape: Syrah 100%

Wine type: Rosso Sicilia DOC

Soil: Sandy, loose-paked

Yield per ha: 9000 kg/ha

Vine density per ha: 4000 - 4500 plants / ha

Altitude: 150 - 250 m asl

Exposure: Facing south and south west

Vinification: Maceration of the grapes at 22 - 25 °C for 8 - 10 days

Maturation: 3 months in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 10 °C

Bottle ageing: 3 months

Colour: Dark and intense, with reduced transparency

Nose : This wine is complex and fruity, with notes of carobs and figs and a hint of elderflower and lavender

Palate: Good structured wine, where the intensity of flavours matches its aromas

Serving temperature: 16 - 18 °C

Food matching: Grilled vegetables, semi-seasoned cheeses, fava bean purèe

Cellar life: 3 years
