Origin Galantas represents the maximum expression of Cabernet Franc in the Maipo Andes Valley. A wine capable of expressing the vibrant elegance and delicacy of this grape variety in this unique terroir. The grapes come from our organic field located in Pirque, in the Andes valley of Maipo. The vineyards of Haras de Pirque are located 700 meters above sea level, where Cabernet Franc can express its great potential thanks to the cold nights of the Andes.
Climate The 2018 vintage at Pirque was considered a great year for red varieties. The cool temperatures during the ripening period preserved the aromas and flavors of the grapes. The Cabernet Franc harvest was carried out in two phases, the vineyards located in the upper part at the beginning of April and in the foothills area at the end of the same month. La Carménère, a late variety, was harvested in mid-May.
winemaking The 4 different plots of Cabernet Franc and the plot of Carménère were vinified independently in stainless steel and French oak vats. Before the alcoholic fermentation, a cold maceration for 3 to 5 days, to maximize its aromatic potential. After the alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, the wine was racked into barriques for a period of 14 months.
Alcohol content 14.5° LG.
