CHARACTERISTICS
Grapes: Piedirosso (locally called pears and palummo) 50% and Aglianico 50%
Production areas and municipalities: Furore and neighboring municipalities
Exposure and altitude: Coastal terraces at 200/550 meters above sea level facing south
Soil type: Dolomite-limestone rocks
Training system: Pergola and/or atypical rays, espalier
Planting density: 5000-7000 vines per hectare
Yield per hectare at the grape harvest: About 60 quintals per hectare (1.3 kg per vine)
Harvest period: Third ten days of October Manual harvesting
Winemaking technique: The grapes harvested at the moment of their complete maturation, after destemming and pressing are subjected to fermentation with intense maceration lasting 30 days with subsequent malolactic fermentation and processing in new French oak barriques.
Aging method and duration: Pre-bottling 12 months in new French oak barriques.
Organoleptic characteristics: Red color with dark ruby reflections, intense aroma of black berries, blackberries, currants, blueberries. Soft taste, well balanced with an aromatic finish of undergrowth and spices
