FIRST BOTTLED HARVEST: 2016.
PRODUCTION AREA: Owned vineyards located in the
municipalities of Offida, Ascoli Piceno and Castel di Lama.
GRAPE VARIETY: Montepulciano 70%, Sangiovese 30%.
AVERAGE ALTITUDE: 200-300 meters above sea level.
SOIL: Mainly clayey, mainly calcareous.
TRAINING SYSTEM: Spurred cordon.
PLANT DENSITY: 5,000 vines per hectare.
YIELD PER HECTARE: Approximately 80 quintals of grapes.
YIELD PER VINE: Approximately 1.6 kg of grapes.
HARVEST TIME: Mid-October. By hand in small crates.
FERMENTATION: After destemming, the grapes are
conveyed into 100 HL fermenters that favor the
perfect irrigation of the cap during fermentation to ensure the most effective contact between must and
skins and favor the extraction of polyphenols. Maceration times can exceed four weeks, to
obtain the best result on the final product.
At the end of fermentation, the wine is placed in
new barriques, where it remains in refinement for 12 to 16 months.
