Denomination: Barolo D.O.C.G.
Variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Grapes from the historic MGA “Brunate” vineyard in the municipality of La Morra, on the southern slope overlooking Barolo. The soil is calcareous-clayey (Marne di Sant’Agata), at an altitude of approximately 300 to 400 m above sea level. The average age of the vines is 50 years, cultivated in Guyot with a density of approximately 4,600 plants per hectare.
Vinification: alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately 3 weeks in a steel tank in contact with the skins with regular pumping over. This time includes pre- and post-fermentation cold maceration using the traditional submerged cap method. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wood. Aged for approximately 30 months in large barrels, and a small part in barriques.
Description: intense ruby red. The nose is explosive, powerful and broad. Fruity notes of plum, citrus of cedar and grapefruit but also spicy. As the minutes pass in the glass you can perceive hints of violet, characteristic of the Brunate terroir. On the palate it is full and intense. The tannin is soft, round, velvety, typical of the La Morra area. On the finish perception of licorice root.
