Denomination: Barolo D.O.C.G.
Variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Grapes from “Cerequio”, one of the most important MGAs in the entire Barolo production area. Our plot is located in the municipality of Barolo with a southern exposure, at an altitude of approximately 320 m above sea level. The density is approximately 4,600 plants per hectare. The vines have an average age of 35 years. The soil is calcareous-clayey with the presence of Marne di Sant’Agata.
Vinification: alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately 3 weeks in a steel tank in contact with the skins with regular pumping over. This time includes pre- and post-fermentation cold maceration which occurs using the traditional submerged cap method. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in wood. Aged for approximately 30 months in large barrels, and a small part in barriques.
Description: intense ruby red. Notes of ripe red fruits and spices on the nose. On the palate it is full, with fruity and citrus notes (strawberry, plum, cherry). The tannin is fine and imposing at the same time, supporting an enveloping and persistent structure. Harmonious and complex. On the finish you can perceive balsamic notes that give life to a wine of rare elegance and balance.
