Mario Schiopetto was born in 1930, son of Angela and Giorgio, he grew up in the Osteria ai Pompieri owned by the family, he lived the experience firsthand as a firefighter and, later, as a truck driver. For years he followed and helped his father who was in charge of selecting wines for the tavern, until he took it over personally after his parents passed away.
In 1963 Mario, guided only by his taste and love for wine, began to dedicate himself to production and in 1965 he produced the first pure “Tocai”. Thus began the era of the modern Friulian white that also transformed the concept of Italian white wine.
