The history of Sardinian Gin has the allure of the forbidden, in fact, immediately after the Second World War, an intense distilling activity developed on the Island, almost all of it contraband. Despite the risk and fear of being discovered by the authorities, everything that the territory had to offer was distilled.

In the Oristano area, Vernaccia and juniper predominated. From the distillation of the marc, filu ‘e ferru was produced, from the wine l’abbardenti, while the juniper distillate was GINIU, from the Sardinian “Giniperu”, or juniper plant.
