My connection with agriculture is innate: my grandfather Domenico, at the beginning of the twentieth century, cultivated olive trees in Rignano Garganico, a small mountain village located in Puglia, in the province of Foggia. After moving to San Severo, in the Tavoliere delle Puglie, he continued the family business and taught his son, my father, the love for olive trees and vines. Since I was a child I began to prune the olive trees and vines, to harvest their fruit and to make wine from our grapes. Ours was an underground cellar, a type of cellar that San Severo was rich in in those years. In the 1970s, the advent of cooperatives and the idea that “unity is strength” led me to suspend the processing activity to dedicate myself mainly to agriculture. In those years, I also became first a professor of Business Economics and then a school director at the ITC in San Severo, without ever abandoning my first passion: I concentrated all my physical and economic energies to be able to grow the company, dreaming of starting again, one day, to produce wine and oil like when I was a child.

So in 2010 I began the renovation of an old farmhouse in the current cellar and since 2013 with the help of my son-in-law, Giovanni, also a wine enthusiast, we have begun the transformation of the first grapes, following, both in the countryside and in the cellar, the organic and traditional method. In the vineyard we practice as few phytosanitary interventions as possible, in the cellar spontaneous fermentations, no clarification or filtration, as my father taught me, and as I in turn teach my children.
