Doublewood, aged 12.

Doublewood Balvenie is a 12 year old malt that gains its distinctive character by maturing in two casks. Beyond its maturation period it is transferred from a traditional oak whiskey barrel to a European sherry oak barrel.

Each stage lends itself to diversifying the quality of this single malt. Traditional barrels soften and add character, while sherry barrels bring depth and fullness of flavor.

On the nose it has notes of fruit and sherry, honey and vanilla.

It has a smooth, smooth taste with well-combined flavors, sweet nutty, spice, cinnamon and a delicately balanced sherry aftertaste.

In the finish it remains persistent and warm.

The Balvenie was founded by William Grant in 1892 within the abandoned buildings of the then abandoned "Balvenie new house" mansion. Production begins on May 1, 1983, with a pure malt whiskey, purely dedicated to the assembly of Grant's blended whiskey. in 1923 the distillery was passed from William to his son John Grant and it was thanks to him that The Balvenie was able to expand structurally and reach the levels of quality that still make it unique today.
