43% vol.

Color: Golden. Aroma: The nose is intense, fragrant, dry and aromatic, with heather and peat notes.

Body Light to medium.

Taste: Soft and delicate, with persistent heather, honey and vanilla notes followed by more intense sensations of citrus fruits and malt bread.

Persistence: Long and persistent finish, of surprising intensity, which begins gently to make room for smoky, peated and malty sensations.

Its name derives from Gaelic and means "meeting point" of sheep and cattle herders.

It is such a remote place that in 1994 it was officially registered as the coldest inhabited place in all of Scotland for that year.

No other distillery can use the water deriving from Lochan an Doire Uaine, (from Gaelic, it means "lake of the green grove") which is 600 meters high in the Drumochter Hills; no one else could combine the clean, accessible and sweetly malty taste of Dalwhinnie's ™ and the soft, smoked and warm heat of the Highlands in such a unique way.

The Dalwhinnie distillery is located between the sweet and green expanses of the Lowlands and the harsh and austere Speuside, which starts about 40 km further north.

The style is typical of the Highlands; a decisive combination of sweetness and strength.
