This wine is made from grapes from the vineyard known as Uccellanda, sown exclusively with Chardonnay grapes and located on one of the most luminous and sun-drenched slopes in the Franciacorta area. From here one can admire the entire morainic basin of the Iseo Lake, mostly responsible for the distinctive character of this land within the general array of the italians lands given over to wine-making. We find ourselves in the municipality of Cortefranca, in Nigoline, at an average height of 300 metres above sea level. This distinctive climate factor is essential for the production of pure, rafined wine that perfectly express the breat of the natural habitat that surrounds them. The vines are arranged parallel to the level curves, in varying numbers depending on the depth of the terracing. With painstaking daily care, we foster the original harmony, its shapes and lines. In the belief that the balance of nature is the best guide to create balance, beauty and amazement. The total surface area of the vineyard is 4.14 hectares and the subsoil contains carbonate rich glacial deposits with mainly sandy-silty textures, compacted with gravel produced by the pressures exerted by the glacier.
We have identified two main types of soil:
a. Dark grey soils, typical of most of this slope. From moderately deep to thin in the internal areas of the terracing. With good drainage, high in limestone, with a sandy or sand loam texture and a frequent and abundant skeleton.
b. Deeper and more developed soils, with a strong thermal inertia. Non-chalky, fine-loam, they are found in the small colluvial sections. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe, after a careful selection of the plant. The must ferments and then matures for twelve months in small 228 litre casks. Bottled during the second spring after harvest, it is left to rest for a further six months in the bottle before being put on the market. From their combination, comes a Curtefranca white that reveals its unmistakable origin: the greatest emotion a wine can provoke. The production method is the typical one used for white wines. The musts ferment and mature in small oak casks for the time required to achieve a perfect stability of taste and scent. Its colour il yellow with golden reflections. The bouquet is broad, refined, with a soothing touch of vanilla, perfectly balanced with hints of golden delicious apples, quince and ripe fruit. The taste is full of elegance, smoothness and structure. Very persistent and with an aromatic quality reminiscent of quality silk fabrics.
