DESCRIPTION

Varieties: Cinsault, Grenache, Rolle and Syrah.

Vineyards: They correspond to the best plots of the Château (Muriers, Longue, Romarin). The grapes also come in part from a selection of vineyards located near Correns.

Vinification: Direct pressing for Cinsault, Greanche and Rolle, while Syrah is partially vinified with the saignée method. The vinification takes place almost entirely in steel and minimally in wood.

Characteristics: Miraval stands out for its pleasant freshness. The elegant fruity aromas, such as red currant, blend harmoniously with slightly citrus, mineral and savory notes. Its long and persistent finish make it a very elegant rosé.

HISTORY CHATEAU MIRAVAL

Château Miraval is located in Correns, north of Brignoles, in Provence and is housed in a castle whose origins date back to pre-Roman times.

In medieval times, Miraval Castle was the seat of several monastic orders and later owned by members of the French royal family.

In the 1970s, due to the beauty of the place and the surrounding nature, Château Miraval was home to music recording studios: Pink Floyd and Sting also worked here, among others.

Since 2008, the Château has been owned by the American actor Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who makes use of the precious collaboration of Marc Perrin, one of the best known winemakers in the Rhone Valley, to make his wines.

The property today includes 600 hectares. Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé is the only rosé wine that, in 2013, was included in the ranking of the top 100 wines in the world by the American magazine Wine Spectator.

Miraval wines best represent the special microclimate and terroir of the Provencal hills.

In 2021 Angelina Jolie sold her stake in Château Miraval to Tenute del Mondo, the subsidiary winery of the Stoli Group which, together with the Frescobaldi family, owns wines such as Luce, Ornellaia and Masseto.

The estate is located in the village of Correns: the 35-room villa is surrounded by lush gardens and a motta, fountains, a pond and a chapel as well as the vineyards in which Pitt claims to have invested vast amounts of money.
