The Vermentino from the Lvnae Bosoni winery is a fresh white, fragrant and at times savory, pleasant and fresh, typical characteristics of Ligurian Vermentini.

It takes its name from the ancient city of Luni, a historic Etruscan and Roman coastal settlement where trade was flourishing, also thanks to the wines produced in this locality.

The Lunigiana area, on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, has always been a fertile land suitable for the production of grapes, thanks to its perfect microclimate, where the fresh winds of the Alps and the breezes coming from the sea meet.

In this context, a wine of great quality could only be born.

The production process begins with the harvest of 100% Vermentino grapes done manually, followed by fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, finally the refinement is carried out in steel and the product can be drunk as soon as it is bottled.

The grapes with which Vermentino "Gray Label" is produced come from vineyards cultivated in small plots, all located in the most suitable areas of the territory between the municipalities of Ortonovo and Castelnuovo Magra. Vermentino has perfectly adapted to the Colli di Luni area, thanks to its preference for the Mediterranean climate, warm, breezy and for the exposures close to the coast, which also characterize its presence in Sardinia and Corsica. The vines are grown on pebbly soils rich in skeleton, with guyot systems with a density of 4000 vines per hectare and have an average age of about 35 years. The manual harvest is followed by soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The wine ages in steel until February, when it is bottled.

The Gray Label of Cantina Lunae Bosoni is the most typical direct and immediate interpretation of Vermentino, it contains its fruity fragrance and freshness, which makes it pleasantly smooth and easy to drink. In the glass it has a straw yellow color. The bouquet expresses delicate floral aromas, aromas of white fruit and citrus. The sip is slender and savory, with a juicy fruit center of the mouth and a finish of beautiful freshness. At the table it finds perfect combinations with seafood menus.

The journey is over 50 years old and began in 1966 when Paolo Bosoni created Cantine Lunae, continuing the work and tradition of his family. Gradually the winery has expanded to its current size, which includes 40 hectares of vineyards, divided into 15 farms, with over 200 local farmers who give their small productions of grapes, thus keeping the traditions of this area alive. The wine production is articulated and interesting: with a prevalent attention in favor of Vermentino, of which it produces a series of interesting versions that enhance both the vineyards (as in the case of the Cavagino cru) and the theme of longevity, with the label of the Numero Locked down. The work on other grape varieties also deserves attention, such as albarola and research on rare red grape varieties, such as massaretta and black pollera. The new aging cellar, Ca 'Lunae, was a commendable historical restoration operation: the spaces, in addition to the barrel room and the beautiful company shop, also include a museum on the material culture of wine, strongly desired and set up by Paolo's son Bosoni, Diego. Above the wine shop, a dining and reception room has been created, connected to a professional kitchen capable of hosting tastings and events.
